Who they are: A brand new LGBTQ+ pub, The Rising, SE1, on Harper Road, Elephant and Castle
What they needed: To get their name out there and announce their opening to local people, as well as to give people a quick taste of what they could expect by visiting. Ultimately to drive business and create hype around the pub.
What we did: We filmed some content on press night and made a video focusing on the fact it was a brand-new LGBTQ+ pub, founders were reviving an old run-down venue on an estate, and showing some of the entertainment that would be on offer.
The drag act was high energy and got the audience singing, so it made the place appear buzzing, even on opening night.
The video on TikTok alone got nearly 80k views and thousands of saves and shares.
What they said: “Working with Community Matters was such a great experience.
“As a new business, we knew how important it’d be to get our name out there quickly and so we invited Isabel to film content with us on our press night. The whole experience of the venue, and our mission as a business, was captured perfectly in the TikTok she created.
“It clearly conveyed the information we wanted to get across to our target market in an accessible/engaging way for modern audiences.
“A few days after the TikTok was posted we noticed a definite increase in guests saying they found us through TikTok and were excited to see the venue for themselves. We were so pleased to have Sky, BBC News, Time Out, Pink News, The Guardian and prominent political figures join us for our launch as well as local press thanks to Isabel.
“It has been brilliant, and I couldn’t recommend them enough.”
